Oriental Carbon & Chemicals Ltd of JP Goentak group is planning to increase its chemical unit in Dharuhera in Haryana. The project involves expanding insoluble Sulphur capacity from 34,000 MTPA to 45,000 MTPA over the next 3 years. The project is likely to be carried out in two phases of 5500 MTPA each along with addition of Sulphuric Acid Capacity of 42000 MTPA.
The project cost is estimated at ₹ 2,160 million. The first Phase of Insoluble Sulphur Plant and the Sulphuric Acid Plant is expected to go operational by the year third quarter of FY 2020-21. In May 2019, the company’s board has approved the project.
